Buying a Home Part 3: Look at the market

December 11th, 2009

Once you’ve found a great agent and told them what you need, your agent will go to work for you. They do comprehensive searches in their local multi-list databases, email other agents and dig out listings that fit you. This really is some time-consuming work, but most agents enjoy this task.

When you get a day to do so, you and your agent will go browse these listings. Showings are then set to see the homes.
Sometimes it can be fun in trying to get showings setup, but it is necessary to go look at several different properties. This step can take a day to a few weeks, depending on schedules. It is normal to look at 3 to 4 properties before you select a home and make the decision to buy. This will give more perspective on things.
There are times when the market simply does not have a lot to offer at a given price point. A price point is the price range where a buyer is interested.
